I first picked up a camera when I was 17, it was a high school photography course. It wasn’t the viewfinder that did it for me; it was the darkroom.

Taking that roll of 35mm into the darkroom and processing it, with the anticipation of seeing what I had created, was like sitting on the edge of my seat at an intense thriller movie.

In the last 10 years, I have worked in all areas of photography, from developing photos, to freelancing as a photographer, and as of late, coupling my love of photography with a diploma in Journalism at SAIT Polytechnic (of course majoring in Photo).

The most important lesson I have learned throughout it all is to shoot from the heart. In every aspect of my life and work I strive to find the very essence of human kind. I’m not the type of photographer who creates moments by posing clients, instead I help to create an atmosphere, then wait to capture those genuine moments between people; moments that make every breath in life worth breathing.

I believe Dorothea Lange said it best: “Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” This is what I pride my self in, the ability to provide every client with precious moments, frozen in time.
